I believe in American ingenuity and resourcefulness. I believe Americans are the hardest working people in the world. If we stop interfering with the financial markets and let the markets work, we can take our hits, let the bad debts collapse, find a new level, and work on.



Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

New York and California are being pounded by rain and it even caused a second round of leaks here in my NYC loft destroying my notes for today’s blog. No big deal! Life’s little troubles ebb and flow like the tide. They pass eventually. Americans are a resilient lot and challenges invigorate me. My plans for today certainly changed when I discovered the leaks. I’ve heard it said, “If you want to give God a laugh, tell him your plans!” Perhaps interesting new opportunities will present themselves today.

Today America celebrates and commemorates Martin Luther King, Jr. By his example, leadership, and inspiration, blacks all over the world have made great advances in education, earning power, and self respect. The earthquake last Tuesday in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, is a natural disaster of epic proportions. The Haitians I know are hardworking and honest people.
